Fair cabin to railroad depot

The Neshoba Democrat: "A Neshoba County Fair cabin might soon be relocated to the historic railroad depot to serve as a tourist attraction. The Tourism Council was given permission to move the donated structure from the Fairgrounds to the depot where it will be set up as a fully functioning Fair cabin complete with utilities...Tourism commission member Brenda Vowell said the owner decided to build a new three-story cabin after learning that the current two-story structure would not support a third floor. Vowell said having the Fair cabin next to the depot would give added attention to the Neshoba County Fair and could bring more tourism to the area."...more...

In an editorial on the subject "Can pigs fly?" - the Neshoba Democrat suggests this is an unwise decision. "It is entirely possible that this newly relocated Fair cabin will appear to be - apart from the Fairgrounds and adjacent to the depot - a giant outhouse, leaving tourists scratching their heads...Perhaps somewhere in town there is a place for a Fair cabin on display, but the depot is not it."
